NYC & New Jersey

The Educational Experience

Customized for Teams and Organizations

Come live in English in NYC and New Jersey, with us!

We will speak/eat/travel in English only all week. You will live in an elegant hotel with us in a beautiful part of New Jersey for four nights, The Asbury, and you will live in midtown Manhattan with us for three nights at The Benjamin.

Immersion will allow you to quickly improve your English, we have orchestrated interactive experiences for the entire week with locals from New Jersey and New York City. You will have local excursions and (very brief) classes every day from 9:00-5:00. We eat (or make!) dinner together from 7:00-9:00 every night.

There are only two levels: Beginner or Intermediate (+). All students in your group have similar levels, and we will work toward your specific goals. All materials (video/audio/text) are prepared for you and included in the experience. You will be gently pushed to interact with locals all week; our expert team will make using English fun and rewarding.

Your entire experience with us is curated and ultra private; limited invitations are distributed. Two American teachers/guides are present all day, eight students maximum per group. You will accumulate over 50 (fifty) hours of high-quality interaction in English throughout the week; you will do this across all modalities: speaking, listening, reading, writing.

The accommodations and meals are carefully selected for our clientele, we will go to the best restaurants in New Jersey and NYC (provided that only English is spoken at the establishment). All meals are included in the experience, and basic wine is also included. A little wine will help enhance your knowledge of American culture.

Typical Day

07:00-9:00 a.m.: Breakfast

Breakfast served in hotel; hotel staff instructed to only serve you in English. Options for private walking/biking tours available. Our expert American teachers are there to chat if you want.

9:00am-10:30am: Morning lesson/prep for excursion

In the morning lesson we will introduce and review vocabulary you will need for the day’s excursion. We will use this time to prepare you as much as possible for the interactions with locals that will comprise your excursion.

9:00am-1:00pm: Daily excursion

Every activity is task-based. You will be given your task before we leave, e.g., “Report how many coffee shops are in Tribeca. We will only be there for 90 minutes, please converse with 5 locals about this question.”

1:00pm-2:30pm: Lunch

Only English spoken. On most days we will lunch by the site of our excursion.

3:00pm-4:30pm: Afternoon lesson/wrap-up from excursion

All students will report their task in English. Teachers will provide some grammar and vocabulary lessons after every student presents. This way, your learning and our teaching is truly experiential.

4:30pm-7:30pm: Free time

Our expert American teachers are available for a walk through town, if you want to stroll and chat with them.

7:00pm-9:00pm: Dinner

Dinner at a local restaurant, where arrangements have already been made with staff—everyone must negotiate their order! (On one of the seven nights, we will cook dinner together with a personal chef; the tasks on that day may revolve around preparing for the recipe.)
